What fixtures are compatible with 3D welding table?

Jul 27, 2026

A full range of standardized modular fixtures can be matched with 3D welding tables, mainly classified by D16 and D28 hole specifications. All compatible accessories adopt unified machining tolerances to achieve seamless assembly, reliable locking and flexible reconfiguration. These interchangeable tooling components form a complete fixturing system to meet positioning, supporting and clamping demands for various welding and assembly workpieces.

Positioning pins are the basic matching accessories. They serve as datum positioning elements to lock workpiece reference points onto the table grid. Multiple types are available, including straight locating pins, threaded pins, spring pins and quick-release pins. Different diameters correspond to D16 or D28 hole systems. High-precision locating pins guarantee repeatable dimensional accuracy during batch fabrication and replace manual scribing to reduce human errors.

Support blocks and adjustable supports are essential for bearing workpiece weight. They are used to prop up frames, sheet metal and profiles to avoid sagging under self-weight. Flat supports, height-adjustable supports and angled support blocks can be freely arranged on the tabletop and vertical side panels. Operators can set multi-point supporting layouts according to workpiece shapes, ensuring stable horizontal datum before clamping.

Angle brackets are widely used for three-dimensional positioning. Available in multiple angles such as 45°, 90° and adjustable variable angles, these brackets can be mounted on horizontal or vertical hole surfaces. They provide vertical and inclined supporting points for spatial frame structures, enabling true 3D fixturing instead of simple planar fixing. Angle brackets are indispensable for automotive frames, roll cages and complex metal assemblies.

Various clamps constitute the core fastening series. Quick clamps, straight pull clamps, screw clamps and toggle clamps are all compatible. They provide stable clamping force to lock workpieces firmly during welding. Many clamps come with replaceable pressure heads to prevent indentations on thin plates or finished stainless steel surfaces. Clamps can be installed at any position on the grid to restrict displacement in multiple directions.

Connecting accessories expand the flexibility of the whole system. Extension bars, connecting bolts, spacers and sliding blocks allow users to extend fixture positions and adjust clamping distances. When dealing with oversized or irregular workpieces, these connectors help build larger fixture layouts without extra modification.

It should be noted that fixtures for D16 and D28 systems are not mutually interchangeable. D16 series accessories are designed for light and medium-duty fabrication, suitable for small frames, thin profiles and prototype work. D28 fixtures feature stronger structure and larger bearing capacity, ideal for heavy steel structures, chassis and large engineering parts. When purchasing accessories, confirm the hole standard of your 3D welding table first.

Apart from standard modular sets, some customized auxiliary tooling can also be installed as long as their connection bases match the hole grid. However, universal modular fixtures are more cost-effective for multi-variety production.

All compatible fixtures are made of alloy steel with heat treatment and anti-spatter surface treatment. With this complete accessory system, fabricators can quickly build dedicated clamping schemes for flat sheets, tubular structures and complex spatial components, eliminating repeated production of one-off custom jigs, shortening setup time and improving overall workshop efficiency.
